Explore And Draw Shapes

Set of three Hepworth sculpture shapes. Laser cut and engraved in frosted acrylic.
I designed six shapes in total using chosen Hepworth sculptures from the 2021 Hepworth exhibition. The three that made the cut were Single Form (yellow), Ascending Form (green) and Figure Archeon (grey). The shapes were intended to accompany a set of drawing prompts given out to families and young visitors to the museum.
These shapes are still in use as part of the Explore and Draw packs today, but the original requirement was for use during Covid restrictions so it was important that they be made out of a material that could be cleaned such as acrylic rather than a porous material such as wood.
Originally I made 200 sets so that used sets could be quarantined for three days before being put back into circulation.
I chose frosted acrylic because it doesn't scratch easily like ordinary acrylic will, so would have a longer and more durable lifespan.
I visited the museum recently and was very pleased to see how clean and fresh they still look.
